Ben Perowsky is an American jazz drummer.
Perowsky was born in New York City, where he played with his father Frank Perowsky, who is a saxophonist. Ben played with Roy Ayers, James Moody, and Rickie Lee Jones as a sideman, and was a member of the Lounge Lizards, Lost Tribe, Elysian Fields, and Liminal. He formed his own trio in 1997 with Chris Speed on saxophone and Scott Colley on bass, and began recording as a leader in 1999.
Perowsky joined the band Joan As Police Woman in 2002, performing on their eponymous debut EP in 2004 and the full-length, Real Life, in 2006. He also appeared alongside fellow bandmates, Joan Wasser and Rainy Orteca, in the Eternal Flame music video in 2006. He has since left the band, with Parker Kindred replacing him on drums.
