Edward Herbert Beresford 'Chip' Monck (born March 5, 1939 in Wellesley, MA, United States) is an American Tony Award nominated lighting designer, most famously serving as one of the masters of ceremonies at the 1969 Woodstock Festival.
Monck planned and built the staging and lighting for the event, but also appeared on stage during the festival as an impromptu stage announcer, just like [artst]John Morris, Abbie Hoffmann and others. Some of Chip Monck's stage announcements have since featured on commercial Woodstock releases, hence the scrobbles.
