Cody Lee Meece is one-of-a-kind. Any attempted label will miss the mark, barring one … ORIGINAL. A singer-songwriter from Eubank, Kentucky, with an incredible self-taught mastery of the guitar, Cody is both a soulful creator and a dynamic entertainer. His influences run wide and deep, from Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix to Roger Miller and Waylon Jennings - and all points in between. His stage presence is an eclectic mixture of endearing aphorisms and banter with his fans, bone-chilling vulnerability, and unapologetic, 10-foot-tall-and-bullet-proof honky tonk rock ... or, as he calls it “Raunchy Tonk." One moment, Cody Lee stands alone with his acoustic guitar bearing the shadows of his soul through his haunting autobiographical ballads. A few moments later, his Telecaster is screaming and soaring over the plaintive wails of pedal steel guitar.
Cody Lee Meece and The Poor Excuses' full-length album “Love Ain't Worth the Trouble” is set for release on the Feels Right label on June 14, 2024! Cody Lee performs live regularly, both solo and with The Poor Excuses, and he recently opened two sold-out shows with Chris Knight at Zanzabar in Louisville and The Burl in Lexington. 2024 tour dates are filling up now and Cody Lee and the Poor Excuses will soon be out on the road promoting the release of their latest labor of love, Love Ain't Worth the Trouble!
