Filtergeist is the production alias of Aditya Prabhu, an electronic music producer & DJ currently based in India.
Often overlapping multiple sub-genres in dance music, the Filtergeist sound combines emotive melodies and spacey motifs with deep grooves all simmering in rich natural atmospheres. A believer in keeping things simple, Filtergeist creates with a minimalist approach to production, building music with heart and soul that works on dance floors both indoors at clubs and out in beautiful natural landscapes.
Born and raised in Mangalore, a South Indian city famous for its food and beaches, Aditya always had a keen sense of rhythm and groove. Although not a musician in the traditional sense, Aditya picked up playing the Tabla at age 9 which eventually transitioned to learning to play the drums. He was drawn into DJing at age 16 and soon the quest to create his own original music began. Aditya spent his twenties in San Francisco working in the animation industry while teaching himself music production on the side. Involving himself in the DIY underground party scene got him opportunities to play at clubs like the legendary Endup and also at Burning Man. Aditya has since moved back to his hometown in India to focus on music production full-time. Striving to continually bring fresh inspiration to the minds, bodies and souls of dancers the world over, Filtergeist will make sure to capture your imagination and leave a smile on your face.
