Ivana Kindl

Ivana Kindl from Po.ega was born on 18 January 1978. In her childhood she played gymnastics, danced and learned to play accordion in music school. At the age of 15 she discovers the magic of soul and r'n'b music through singers like Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. During her secondary education she used to travel every week to music teacher Mario Gjuranac who taught her singing. She appeared in various TV shows like Turbo Limach Show and Give Them Applause where she won the first place in 1996. She enrolled in the Faculty of law in Osijek, but signed out because of singing. She moved to Zagreb and joined the band Funky Town where she sang for two years. Her friends from the group XL invited her to film her first commercial. Today you can hear her voice in many commercials of Croatian successful firms. She caught the eye of a producer who targets younger audiences Baby Dooks from Bolesna Braca and offered her collaboration.

By the end of October 2002 her first album Trenutak Istine (Moment of Truth) (Menart) came out. 2004 she released anotherr successfull Album called Moj Svijet (My World). In 2006 she released her third album named Osjecaj (Feeling) that suggested slight change in sound from r'n'b to pop-rock. In late 2008 she released live album Gospel u Komediji (Gospel in Komedija) that featured many popular gospel songs. In 2010 she won Porin (Croatian music award) for that same album in category for gospel music. Also the same year she released her fourth studio album Promjenjiva (Changeable) which confirmed her change in music direction to rock and pop. In subsequent year, 2011, she won Porin for Best female vocal performance for song Utjeha (Solace) from her album Promjenjiva.

Ivana was one of the most successful and most popular mentors in show Zvijezde Pjevaju (licensed after BBC's show Just the Two of Us). During second season, which was her first, she won with her partner Nika Kuelj in year 2008. In third season she came second with her partner Duko Modrini·. She took a break from show during fourth season and in fifth season she finished third with her partner Mario Petrekovi·. Sixth season had change of concept, it was slightly shortened and instead of new celebrities producers decided to invite some of the most popular contestants from previous seasons and pair them with new mentors. Ivana was paired with Goran Navojec (who competed in season two with Marija Husar) and together they took first place, thus making her sole female and one of the only two mentors with two victories so far. All of her partners were professional actors, besides Mario Petrekovi· who is a TV presenter and personality.
