Joe Sgro

Joe Sgro was born in Philadelphia, PA. He started his music career at the age of four . In 1939 he join the Victor Hugo band and was featured on the guitar. He has worked with Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Jan Murray and many more top performers. He played in Paul Whiteman's Orchestra for seven years.Ed McMahan featured Joe as the world's greatest guitarist on his show. Joe played with the Philadelphia Orchestra under guest conductors, Percy Faith, Andre Kostelanitx and Eugene Ormandy. Read more on Last.fm
