Karen Finley is an American performance artist whose performance work and recordings include graphic depictions of sexuality, abuse and disenfranchisement. Finley's recordings often feature her performative monologues over disco beats. She is most notably known as one of the NEA Four, four performance artists whose grants from the National Endowment for the Arts were vetoed in 1990 after their works were labeled "obscene."
