Machi Rufino

Machi Rufino (Carlos Alberto Machi Rufino), started in music as a bassist in 1967. After various experiences is called by Pappo in 1972, to join with Pomo (drums) of Pappo 'Blues. This group recorded Pappo's Blues Volume 3 and Volume 4 band.

In 1973 form with Luis Alberto Spinetta and battery back in the group Pomo Invisible, with whom he recorded: "Invisible", "bleeding Peach" and "The Garden of the present", until the group disbanded in late 1976 .

In 1977 part of the new solo project with Diego Spinetta Rappoport, and Osvaldo Lopez, and recorded "18 minutes of sun."

In 1978 a group Tantor, with Héctor Starc and Rodolfo Garcia, with whom he recorded "Tantor" with Leo and Lito Vitale Sujatovich as guest musicians.

In 1982 he began his relationship with the Argentine jazz movement and part of the trio of pianist Baby Lopez Furst for four years, which is then incorporated as a fourth member other great jazz pianist Jorge "Pampero" Navarro, and the contribution Luis Ceravolo on drums. At the same time continues to participate in events "rockers", summoned again by Spinetta, participates in the album "Mondo di chrome", and also in the presentation of the material in the Coliseum theater in late 1984.

Records the album Pure Prairie League "I am what I am", where his young daughter Lauri sings the chorus of the song "Born Again".

Recorded a jazz album with guitarist Francisco Rivero in 1985, called "New York Buenos Aires." During 1987/88 the band integrates Spinetta again and recorded "Tester violence."

In 1988 he recorded "Unholy" with Ruben Goldin.

In 1993 participates in the recording of "Fire Grey" (Spinetta) as recording technician and musician.

In 1995 he was invited by Illya Kuryaki to participate in her album "Chaco".

Machi has spent over 20 years teaching music, some of his former students, musicians like Paul Dourge transcendent (ex-Fito Paez) and Gabriela Martinez (bassist balls).
