There’s no boundary in the mind of Dutch producer Joost van der Vleuten. For the past decade, he’s released under multiple monikers and explored many different styles in the electronic dance music landscape.
After many successful projects and releases in trance, it were the deep, warm beats and tangled melodies that lured him in. And so, Namatjira was born. With originals like ‘1000 Of Years Ago’ (Cyber Records), ‘Road To Nothing’ (Vise Versa Music) and ‘Late At Night’ (Mistique Music), the Namatjira sound became hot property to both the maddening crowds as well as his highly respected DJ colleagues.
Emerged in 2007, the Namatjira project continued to grow, and in 2012 Joost decides to follow his instinct and put his other projects on hold to give full focus to the deeper sounds that move him. An impulsive but rewarding decision, leading to highly successful collabs with Royal Sapien (Lowbit) and Mz Sunday Luv (Asymmetric), as well as remixes for Marc Poppcke, Guy J, Solarstone, Armin van Buuren and the legendary Subsky classic ‘Strawberry Fields’.
His releases on Manual Music, Sudbeat, Soulful techno, Click Records and Hope Recordings have gained support by some of the most leading lights in progressive, from Hernán Cattáneo, Sasha, John Digweed, Guy J and Guy Mantzur to Gabriel Ananda and Nick Warren, giving Joost the recognition he deserved.
An impressive legacy that ever grows.
