Paolo Benvegnù was the founding guitarist-singer of Schism, unavoidable alternative-rock group disbanded Italian, with whom he has recorded, produced and composed of three discs of Parlophone-EMI label. From 1996 to 2000, the Garda Band 'was the winner of Arezzo Wave, and only selected Italian band for European Connection Europe Festival, Le Printemps de Bourges (France), won the Premio Ciampi 1998, and played hundreds of concerts in Italy and in Europe.
After the dissolution of the Schism, Benvegnù he moved to Florence to work with Marco Parente which holds various concerts and records of the Florentine artist album Transparent, released by Mescal / Sony.
Paul Benvegnù also becomes one of the four singers of the Living Nativity (singer), show by and with David Rion and Stefano Bollani.
Soon established a strong link with all the contemporary art scene in Florence, Benvegnù built a recording studio in Prato, and in parallel to the new solo career, begins to artistic producer worked with many albums, including disturbance, Terje Nordgarden and Brychan .
The passage of Paul 's just a dream is entered from the Grand Irene in his album of 2003, and was also included in the recent Best Of Irene in a live version recorded with Stefano Bollani.
In the same period Paul Benvegnù strikes a deal with the label Tuscan Santeria and Stoutmusic publishing his first solo album Small Fragilissimi Film in 2004, launched by the single and video of suggestible.
The album immediately becomes a "classic" of the independent scene, receiving a great response from the public, rave reviews and finishing among the best albums of the year.
The album was followed by a long tour of over 150 dates, receiving the award for Best Tour 2004 at MEI and ends in October 2005 in Florence, with an ambitious show entitled Small Fragilissimi Sport.
In the following three years Paul Benvegnù is again engaged on the side live with Kindergarten Tour and the Tour Nickerbocker which recorded an impressive number of sold-out.
Between 2006 and 2007 there is the involvement of Paul as an artist and as a producer in the Peaks hard Milf (RadioFandango / Edel): a successful reinterpretation of the Trentino folk songs of Petra Gizzards company and Ares Tavolazzi.
System Of A Down in 2007 also creates two housewives fiction, Plumbers and Sailors: a surreal mix of cabaret and music staged with great success by Paul and his band in a private home on several occasions.
In October 2007 Paul Benvegnù from the new EP prints on their new label The Rain Records, titled 14-19, along with the single The Distance and an unusual tour consists of 3 different shows in three cities.
The disc collects excellent reviews everywhere and creates great expectations for the new Lips album, coming out in February 2008 with Venus distribution. The album was immediately hailed as one of the best Italian discs of recent years and is accompanied by the single of The Enemy, also presented live on Scalo76 RAI2. To support this new work there is also a long and busy tour that takes Paul Benvegnù in major Italian clubs and festivals (like V-Day in Turin with Beppe Grillo and ypsigrock with Deus) and ending one year after.
In 2008 he published with Marco Parente the namesake of the album project good Bullets. At the beginning of 2009 he took part in the project The country is real and the relative Afterhours disc are: The country is real (19 artists for a better country?), Wanted by Manuel Agnelli of Afterhours to support and promote the indie rock reality of the Italian underground scene, with the song Me and my love. In the same year his first ricantata The vertical sea is from Marina Rei, and then by Giusy Ferreri for respective albums: Musa & Photos.
April 3, releases his new EP called 500 and launched by the individual in the silence, produced by Fabrizio Barbacci (Ligabue, Roy Paci) and the tour takes Paul to the First of May in Rome, on the Main Stage of Italy Wave and conclude in December 2009 to Artists' Club of Rome with Dissolution, a memorable concert with an enlarged formation with strings and horns that becomes a live album, released in June 2010 and which has resulted in a successful national tour of over twenty dates in major Italian cities.
In May 2010, Mina comes out with his new cd candy in which re-interprets a song of Benvegnù You and I contained in the first disc solo Small fragile film.
The video of Me and my love, single unpublished Dissolution cd (2010), won the Best Cinematography Award at PIVI 2010, and was elected best song in the 2010 Independent Top Indies organized by the MEI. Also in 2010 Benvegnù toured Italy with his Dissolution Tour, with which participates in many festivals such as the five-star Woodstock organized by Beppe Grillo, and The Aromatic city of Mauro Pagani.
In February 2011 comes Hermann (The rain discs / Venus); the record is reviewed favorably by the major national newspapers and magazines, as well as the specialized press, and is presented in many quality shows like Talk to me of Rai 3 and Line Night and in numerous radio broadcasts of Radio 1 (like Start, Steronotte , Radio 2 (Radio 2 live Sounds of summer), Moby dick, Twilight, Radio 2 Social Club) and Radio 3 (Turn it up, Fahrenheit, Zaza), Isoradio (ZTL and Concerts in Safety) and Radio Popolare Network.
The autumn of 2011 is a season full of satisfaction for Paul Benvegnù, receiving the Award Radioindie Music Like an artist no longer transmitted by radio circuit that determines the ranking Indie Music Like.
Hermann is ranked according to the Targa Tenco 2011, in the best album category ever year. Also Paul Benvegnù receive at the MEI the Italian Independent Music Award 2011 (PIMI) as the best soloist.
Between 2011 and 2012, with its Hermann Tour, he takes part in many prestigious events: The Republic of ideas in Bologna, Sherwood Festival, Italy Wave Love Festival, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Suo.na in Naples to Male Angevin, "Roma Rock" in opening the Cure, Fortezza da Basso in Florence, participated as a guest at the Tenco Prize at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo and at PIMI Prize at Teatro Kismet Bari.
In 2012 he collaborates with Marina Rei as co-author and singer in the song The broken flowers, in the disk of the Roman singer and participated in the compilation Tribute to Ivan Graziani with Holland song.
In October 2014 comes out Earth Hotel for the label Woodworm , distributed by Audioglobe.
