She!k

Creating emotion and movement through intense, live modular techno performances; She!k uses field-recorded sounds, layers of gritty metallic synth voices, noise and percussion from his ever-changing eurorack system, samplers, filters and controllers. She!k is a live modular techno artist and producer from South London. Following a lifelong passion for noise, She!k's early influences came from 90's shoegaze bands, dub artists and American hardcore, punk and doom rock bands. Later, discovering the harder edged electronic and the intense squat-party acid techno scene. Having flirted with DJing, She!k's real enthusiasm is for playing live. She!k plays compact Eurorack cases, containing various synth and texture voices, modulated with an array of cv envelopes and filters as well as a standalone performance sampler. She!k's live performances are unplanned and spontaneous. Fuelled by the reaction and energy of the dancefloor she!k builds tension with increasing layers, growing in intensity, punctuated with devastating, abyss-like drops.
