Experimental trio 33.3 formed on the campus of Yale University in the autumn of 1997.
Mixing in cello gives this instrumental rock trio a rich and memorable sound. The cellist and bassist is Dominique Davison, also of A Minor Forest and Threnody Ensemble. 33.3 was together two years before releasing this debut and they prove a cohesive unit as a result. Ranging in mood from dark and brooding to bright and happy, 33.3 is a varied and sophisticated record. 33.3 can be compared to the best of the Chicago-based instro-rock scene, falling between 5 Style and Tortoise.
