Continuing their successful partnership, Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, produced the band’s multi-concept album, A Thousand Suns. Delving into themes of pride, destruction and regret, the album topped various Billboard charts. This sonic journey finds the band experimenting with their sound. A Thousand Suns would yield the hit singles, “Iridescent,” “Waiting For The End,” “Blackout,” “Burning In The Skies,” “Empty Spaces,” The Catalyst” and “The Messenger.” With wide acclaim, the album would be certified Gold by the RIAA.
