TNT Subhead aka Tiago Miranda brings his first solo album to the table, "Ecstasy And Release" follows the 12" of the same name and serves up some wholesome electronic soul food for our delight. Flowing beautifully, and with great perspective, the first two tracks display deep synthetic soundscapes. "The Story Of The Eye" a beatless, Krauty number while "Can't Relax" deploys a steady 4/4 rattle over its cascading synth washes and endless delays. "Icel Berg" rides a druggy, Love From Outer Space chug with dark robot voices and retro arps. "Ecstasy And Release" gets another outing, and why not?! A celestial floatation device of the highest order, its sparse instrumentation allows all the elements to sit wonderfully on the ears and transport the listener into the higher realms. On the flip "I Think Of Sex But Not Of You" is a deep, gliding, electronic track riddled with emotion. Fluttering keyboards and thick, gloopy pads providing a rich soundbed for the repeating, glitching electronics to get lost inside and twist the cerebrum through its glowing mainframe."The Book Of Yes" opens up the filters and lets the whole technicoloured synth spectrum through its gates while "Arp K Found" is a beatless psychedelic number. Dripping with liquid synth goodness, the track is like a sonic waterfall of luminous fragments, similar to Prins Thomas' synth excursions on self titled LPS "I" and "II". Finally "It's Time Again" takes us off deep into the wormhole with a collage of harsh galactic frequencies and tones. Landing on some abandoned space station in the outer cosmos. An excellent debut LP displaying fine synthesis skills, a Kraut-influenced mindset coupled with a modern handle on electronics but never forgetting to keep things humanized and with soul.
