Editorial:
The New Trolls are certainly an eclectic group. This album includes music
reminiscent of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Jethro Tull in a few places, but
there are plenty of original ideas too.
From the liner notes: The basis of this Italian progressive group is the
fascinating contrast of classical harmonies and electronic improvisation, but
also the merging of various acoustic elements into a symphonic unity: Baroque
harpsichord sounds and dynamic rock rhythms, Italian folk and classical
variations Mellotron passages, melodic flute pieces, subtle piano parts and
chorale chants come off and merge, without appearing too dissonant.
