The Official Bio. . .
Unique in their approach to the music scene, The Boxtones have one goal in
mind - To change the way people enjoy music. As a launching platform to the
rest of the world, the band formed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in
early 2013. This Scottish / Canadian line up have been toiling away for over
a year to produce their first debut album, In the Pockets of Clowns, to
critical acclaim. The band have already featured in almost every source of
media in the UAE, with interviews from Rolling Stone Magazine, features in
The National newspaper, and spots on Dubai Ones 'That's Entertainment', they
are setting their sights high. The Boxtones are involved with Sony Music,
Virgin, Red Bull and Rolling Stone ME - which is just an example of some of
the partners / collaborators helping to back the band. With a fierce loyalty
to the original music scene, both in the UAE, Europe and Canada, the band are
developing a hard core loyal fan base. Winners of Rolling Stones Street to
Stage competition 2013, a competition that took in over two thousand artists
in the Middle East. Following that, the band opened for 80's hair band Europe
at Dubai's Tennis Stadium to a packed out audience. With more exciting news
for the guys n gals at camp Boxtones coming in 2014, the prospects are endless,
and we'd like you to take a minute to listen to our tracks, maybe buy a song
or two, and if your up to it, the whole album?!?
Ripper's Notes:
I have zero memory as to what inspired me to buy this album in the first place.
My guess is, they appeared on some random comp that I purchased and liked the
track enough to hunt down the whole album? Who knows. But, what we have here
is a straight up rock album, which stands out due to some unique song
structures and arrangements. Certainly worth a listen. I've never been able
to track down album #2, but I'd be happy to grab it if I did. If I'd be happy
to buy more, I guess that makes this album a success in my book.
