They were in session for us just three weeks ago - and this week Bromyard and
Worcester band Stone Mountain Sinners hit #5 in the iTunes Country Chart.
And to celebrate, they officially launched their Rockfield-recorded Tones Of
Home at the Imperial Tavern in Worcester on Friday night.
Formed around the powerhouse vocals of Bromyard's Neil Ivison and Worcester's
Sarah Warren, Stone Mountain Sinners features former members of The Misers,
The Sarah Warren Band, Slowburner and The Delray Rockets.
Having received regular airplay across the UK, Europe and the USA, Neil was
described by the Sunday Mercury as "cut from the same cloth as Paul Rodgers"
while Sarah's Janice Joplin-style vocal delivery has seen her winning fans
across Europe, where she has toured extensively.
With songs about friends, drinking, brushes with the law, love, broken
relationships, fights and jobs, their latest album was recorded at Rockfield
Studios - the same place that brought us Queen, Coldplay, Oasis and the
Manic Street Preachers.
"I walked my boss down the corridors of the BBC, sat him in front of a
computer, played him Stone Mountain Sinners and he gave me a Sunday show!" -
