The Liner Notes. . .
A cutting edge combination of what today's technology has to offer with the
songwriting talent of yesteryear, Dominic Moon's brainchild is at once jarring
in it's heaviness and yet somehow soothing in the richness of it's many
textures. Liken it to being lulled by the rhythmic noise of an express train
ride even as you watch the world outside fly by at breakneck speed. The
melding of worlds is hardly surprising given Dominic's eclectic music
upbringing. Raised in New York's bohemian Greenwich Village by parents who
were devout "deadheads", Dominic witnessed at an early age the impact that
music could have on people's lives. When he himself discovered The Beatles,
his fate was sealed and it was a quick progression from piano and formal bass,
to electric bass. Dominic's fervent "study" habits, which consisted of
jamming along to the tunes of heroes like Chris Squire and John Paul Jones,
secured him a place studying music at the University Of Washington.
Supplementing his education by working in a local music store where he dabbled
on every instrument they had, and lending his bass and songwriting skills to
various local rock bands, Dominic was ready for what L.A. had to offer upon
graduation. Since his arrival, Dominic's L.A. experience has been blessed with
everything from platinum sales to arena-sized performances, but it is since his
meeting up with collaborator and producer Tommy Henriksen and the subsequent
creation of Underground Moon that Dominic has felt that he has come into his
own creatively. Henriksen himself brings a lot to the table with his own
singer/songwriting and producing career netting credits that include a featured
soundtrack song in the film "Blast From The Past" with Brendan Fraser and
Alicia Silverstone, a solo project that is currently being courted by major
labels and a 1999 Capitol release that critics dubbed "music for the new
millennium." With major distribution secured both in Europe and Japan tour
dates set for next year and requests for Underground Moon dance mixes flooding
in from both of those markets, that is exactly what Dominic has brought to life
with this project.
Ripper's Notes:
Sorry about the wall of words above, I just transcribed it exactly as written.
And, dance mixes, lol, nothing that will get your dancing shoes on here, but
there is certainly a questionable mix or two. . .
If you don't recall from my prior Underground Moon release, Dominic is actually
Jeff Pilson of Dokken fame.
If you chose to share this, or any other release, elsewhere, please
give the original ripper/uploader the respect they deserve by
leaving it intact and giving credit where credit is due.
I really need to spell check before creating torrents. . .
