Andrea Motis (Barcelona , May 9 of 1995) is a Spanish singer and instrumentalist in jazz.
Formed musically, from 7 years in Municipal Music School of Sant Andreu , a suburb of Barcelona, as trumpeter and first saxophonist later. In 2007, only 12 years, he began collaborating with the jazz Sant Andreu Jazz Band , led by music teacher and musician Joan Chamorro . He has participated in numerous concerts Catalan jazz circuit. Because of its precociousness numerous media outlets have interviewed or have written reviews of his musical activity. His voice has been compared to Norah Jones.
In 2010, only 15 years old, recorded an album as a solo singer of jazz standards titled Joan Chamorro presents Andrea Motis. Recently provides concert named "Andrea Motis & Joan Chamorro Group".
He managed to be among the 10 finalists of the awards "Català de l'any 2011" awarded by "El Periódico de Catalunya". But he refused to go on, as his parents said, because the nomination came "at an inappropriate stage of your life."
With 17 years passed tests to study art called Oriol Martorell, located in Nou Barris, Barcelona. There will be professionally finished.
