About the Band...
The Backtrack Blues Band hails from the Tampa Bay region of Florida and has been performing original blues music since 1980. As one of Floridas longest running blues acts, Backtrack has performed with many blues legends Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Greg Allman, Koko Taylor, Johnny Winter, John Lee Hooker, and Robert Cray, just to mention a few.
This five-piece unit has an upbeat, electric blues sound reminiscent of the early Chicago blues scene. Sonny Charles supplies great amplified harmonica and vocals. Spider Ingram plays lead and slide guitar and adds vocals as well. The solid rhythm section consists of Little Johnny Walter on rhythm guitar, Joe Bencomo on drums, and Ben Jammin on bass. The band delivers its brand of original electric blues with the passion and integrity of a group that has spent decades refining its craft.
Backtrack has earned the respect of its musical peers, winning three prestigious Tampa Bay music awards for Best Blues Band. On its fourth recording, Captured Alive, the band has produced a fantastic live CD as well as a concert DVD that captures Backtrack at its best. Its a performance of honest music, recorded just as it was played, without any edits or technological gimmicks, that shows the true talent of this seasoned band. The CD has received air play on hundreds of blues radio stations throughout the US and Canada , charting as the number 3 blues release in Florida, and number 17 on the national blues charts.
