Burning is a rock band from Madrid, Spain. It was founded in La Elipa neighbourhood in 1974 by José Casas (Pepe Risi, guitar), Antonio Martín (Toño Martín, voice), Johnny Cifuentes (keyboards) and Enrique Pérez (bass).
They started singing in English (well, it was mostly fake English, as they were not proficient with the language and sometimes they just tried to imitate the sound) but soon enough they started to sing in Spanish. Starting 1978 they had a very prolific period that made them one of the most influential bands of La Movida Madrileña. The band was heavily influenced by the Rolling Stones and this influence can be clearly detected in their sound in general and Pepe's guitar in particular.
The band is still active, but only Johnny remains of the original members (Toño left the band in 1983 and died on 1991, and Pepe died on 1997).
