Deejay who goes with NO AKA was born, DeeJay Molefe Moropane on the 3rd of January 1988 in Pretoria, Attridgeville, He has lived in the United Kingdom for three years, where his mother currently resides, until he returned to South Africa in 2003. He attended the prestigious Treverton College in KZN where he completed his matric and moved on to the Academy of Sound Engineering in Johannesburg, where he later branched out to focus more on his music. He looks to his mom as his source of inspiration as she sacrificed so much to take care of him and his older sisters, and believes that this is one of the main factors that pushed him to follow his music dream.
DeeJay was a regular on YFMs Siz n' Scoop show, he was noted for winning freestyle battles for 12 months in a row, leading him to record a few singles with the label Good Life Entertainment and Sid Productions. He later took a break to revaluate his life after the birth of his son. His most notable career moments include his first freestyle with celebrity rapper Proverb.
Where he then became rated the top freestyle MC in Mzansi.
He spent time as a DJ on UJFM hosting the UJFM Top 40.
He also spent 8 week in 2008 on undefeated on Channel O's Oboma, with Lungsta and Nonhle Tema until the show was ended that year.
DeeJay believes that the most critical elements in music include informative lyrical content with a touch of international culture (Globalization). His decision to step up from the street to the mainstream has been an accumulation of experience and determination.
M.O.B has given me a platform to express myself.
Being so naturally talented has its expectations which DeeJay has now risen to meet, and listeners are sure in for a treat with his first album being full of both smashing club music and brutally honest and real lyrics that deal with the emotions of a growing person in the 21st century.
