Fortress Social Club records rock & roll music on a bunch of 60's analog gear, after-hours at the Fortress in Downtown Los Angeles.
Fortress Social Club, a new Los Angeles-based sextet made up of current and former members of the Matches, Maniac, the Bellrays, and others, prides itself on creating “summer-of-love-fantasy rock and roll." As vocalist Shawn Harris puts it, "We are on a quest with each song we write to recreate the magical feeling we had when we first discovered rock ‘n’ roll.”
With vintage instruments and a profound love of John Lennon, T. Rex, the Velvet Underground, the band fully embraces their retro sound on the upcoming debut album Dreamin' the Life. “We’re not trying to pretend that we are from another time, we are just creating the sort of music that has always sounded the most human and timeless to us," Harris notes.
