Danish duo Grammofon present Fabelagtige Forviklinger (“Fabulous Entanglements”), a melodic jazz album shaped by long friendship, deep musical trust, and an intuitive sense of interplay. A collection of timeless original compositions balancing tradition and modern sensibility, Fabelagtige Forviklinger is set for release on April 24th, 2026 via Zack’s MUSIC.
Led by saxophonist Niels Oldin and guitarist Jakob Frandsen, the duo first met at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1996. Over the decades that followed, their lives and careers repeatedly intersected: returning to Denmark, teaching at the same folk high school on the island of Ærø, sharing an apartment in Copenhagen, and later leaving the city around the same time to settle elsewhere with their families. That shared history has gradually distilled into a musical language marked by warmth, playfulness, and an unusually natural sense of dialogue.
