Maestro Ion Voicu (1923-1997), Romanian violinist. Born in Bucharest, he was a child prodigy, completing a seven-year course at the Bucharest Royal Academy of Music in only two years. He polished his art under such renowned musicians as George Enacovitch, George Enescu and David Oistrakh Ph.D. He has produced more than 100 records LP and CD, including those by DECCA House and Deutsche Gramophone. His repertoire rang from forgotten masterpieces of the past to new works written for him by Romanian and foreign contemporary composers.
