İzel (Çeliköz) is a popular contemporary Turkish pop singer.
İzel's full name is İzel Çeliköz. İzel Çeliköz was born in 1969 in Yalova, Turkey. She graduated from the Istanbul Technical Univesity State Conservatory (İ.T.Ü. Devlet Konservatuarı ), where she had mastered the kemençe, a type of violin. At the beginning of her musical career, She was originally part of the Turkish pop band İzel-Çelik-Ercan, however, when the band broke up in 1993, she decided to release her own solo albums. Her solo debut album was "Adak". The song "Hasretim" became a hit pop song.
In 1997, she worked with Mustafa Sandal on her second solo album Emanet and was later featured on his 2007 album Devamı Var.
Also in 1997, İzel released her second solo album "Emanet", featuring Mustafa Sandal on the opening track. Her last album, Işıklı Yol, was released in 2007.
She also was part of her school choir as well as several other choirs in the city.
