Информация об исполнителе
Kevin Harding and Laura Ann Singh formed Quatro na Bossa in 2003. Drawing initially from early Bossa Nova standards, the group's repertoire has expanded to include other Brazilian genres and some original material. In addition to private functions and clubs, they have performed at several music festivals around the country, and have been guest artists at several universities. Quatro na Bossa includes vocalist Laura Ann Singh, guitarist Kevin Harding, Rusty Farmer on bass, and Andy Brockmann on drum set and percussion. Each member of Quatro has pursued instruction under notable Brazilian performers on their instrument: Laura Ann studied with sambista Fabiana Cozza in Sao Paulo and guitarist Oscar Castro-Neves in New York; Kevin, who teaches at the University of Richmond, Randolph-Macon College and the College of William and Mary, has studied with Brazilian guitarists Romero Lubambo and Toninho Horta, and in Rio de Janeiro with choro guitarist Bilinho Teixeira. Rusty has studied with bassists Nilson Matta and Itaiguara Brandao in New York. The quartet has performed with many drummers and percussionists including Rogerio Boccato, Adriano Santos and Jorge Alabe and locally Andy Brockmann and Matt Wyatt. Quatro na Bossa played many engagements at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at the Lincoln Center under jazz legend Todd Barken's management, with headliners Nilson Matta, Duduka da Fonseca, Maucha Adnet, Romero Lubambo, and Harry Allen. Also in New York, they recorded the album Summer Samba for the Japanese label Venus Records, with drummer Adriano Santos and saxophonist Rodrigo Ursaia. In the fall of 2012, the group released their second CD entitled Bossa Nossa. Their recording of Doralice was chosen for Style Weekly's music issue in 2013. In the past two years, videographer David Hellman produced two music videos from Bossa Nossa, based on their recordings of Chega de Saudade and Doralice, (available on and quatronabossa.com). Quatro na Bossa invites you to enjoy and explore the music of Brazil as they pay tribute to some of their favorite artists.
