Marco Käppeli (born 1 March 1951 in Basel ) is a Swiss jazz drummer.
Käppeli studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Berne. Together with John Wolf Brennan and Thomas thirsty he played in the Quintet " Impetus " , with their own groups in 1985 and 1986 on the Willisau Jazz Festival , the Berlin Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Hans Koch and Martin Schütz , he was in the group Koch-Schütz - Käppeli 1990 tour of Asia and with the group of Peter Schärli in Russia. He works regularly with his own " Marco Käppeli Selection" (CD "Lava - punch " ) , with the group " Interkantonale Blasabfuhr " with Joe Malinga " Southern Africa Force" and the "Alpine Experience" or Omri Ziegeles "Cheaper farmer" . He also participated in recordings of the "Alpine Jazz Herd" and " Day & Taxi" .
Käppeli also worked as an actor inter alia Theater am Neumarkt , the Theater an der Winkelwiese , Theater Gessner Allee and as a music teacher at the New School Canton Aarau . In 2011 he received the Culture Prize Aargau .
