Marius Mihalache is a romanian cembalo performer of Roma ancestry. His family has a long history in music: his great-great-grandfather was a cembalo player and his grandfather (violin player) was one the greatest lautari of the interwar period.

He started studying the cembalo when he was six years old.

In 1987, when he was 13 years old, he won the Paris International Youth Festival.

At the age of 17, he played classical music on the stage of the famous opera house "La Scala" in Milan, Italy.

He played as an opening act for Nina Simone in Rome, Gloria Gaynor in Palermo and Chick Corea in Bucharest.

In 2002, he collaborated with romanian artists Teodora Enache (singer) and Lucian Maxim (percussionist) on releasing "Radacini/Back to my roots" - a homage to Maria Tanase.

He is also a soundtrack composer, writing the scores for "Ticalosii", directed by Serban Marinescu, 2007; "Filantropica", directed by Nicolae Caranfil, 2001; "Garcea" directed, by Sam Irvine 2002.
