Miguel Ángel Cortés was born on January 26, 1972 in Granada, Spain.
Enter the world of flamenco through La Zambra del Sacromonte at age eight.
In 1986, he toured throughout Europe, Japan and the United States to accompany dancing figures, such is as Mariquilla, Manolete, Javier Barón, Antonio Canales, Juan Ramírez, Beatriz Martin, Eva La Yerbabuena and Juan Andrés Maya.
Begins in 1991, with his brother Paco Cortés, to accompany the singer Carmen Linares in its various tours Middle East, Europe, and Japan.
In 1994 won the Second Prize in the "Guitar Competition Paco de Lucía", two years after he was a finalist in the "Young Values Award" at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.
In 1996 collaborated in recording with singer Enrique Morente and Nick lizard group in the "Omega" album.
In 1998 released their first solo album, "Patriarch", with which he was nominated in the flamenco fusion in the second edition of the awards of the music of Andalusia (AEDA), in October 2001 in Jerez.
In 2005, collaborating in the recording of the album and DVD "The beginning of the beginning" of Antonio Orozco.
He has collaborated with artists like Luz Casal, Estrella Morente, Diana Navarro, Carmen Linares, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda, Chano Lobato, Jose Merce, Jose de la Tomasa, Chiquetete and El Pele, among others.
Appears on the DVD "Home, Cave and Stage" Estrella Morente as guest artist, as well as the live broadcast of the show "1922 Pastora" in Granada.
It is the usual guitarist and singer Esperanza Fernández singer Archangel.
"Bordon Rag" is his second-and last-to date solo album, produced by Gerardo Nunez and Carmen Linares collaborations, Esperanza Fernández and Archangel.
In 2007 obtained the Prize Deflamenco.com best guitar album with "Bordon Rag".
In September 2008 he participated as guest artist at the Opening Gala of the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, in the spectacle of Manolo Sanlucar "Your ear is older than your grandfather."
While it is admirable his work as a soloist, his role as guitarist backing guitar places him as one of the current figures of flamenco.
