Sarah L King

Sarah L King grew up under the influence of her jazz trumpeter and bandleader father, Mike King, from East Anglia. After singing in several London soul and gospel choirs, and a creative career in filmmaking and screenwriting, King has emerged as an accomplished vocalist, songwriter and composer, catapulting onto the London jazz scene with her pure-toned vocals and sophisticated songwriting.

King’s much acclaimed first album 'Fire Horse', produced by Claire Martin OBE has featured on Jazz FM and BBC Radio 3 Jazz Requests. Her highly anticipated second album of original songs, 'The Light Ahead', also produced by Claire Martin for ECN music, is due for release on March 20th 2026. King mixes elements of neo soul, funk and sometimes disco, to create her jazz hybrid groove-led sound.

King has recently toured with her Stockholm trio, and made a sold out appearance at the EFG London Jazz Festival 2025. She is soon to be embarking on the tour of 'The Light Ahead' with the stellar line up of world class musicians who feature on the album.
