Sonya Belousova, internationally recognized, award winning versatile composer and pianist, was born in Saint- Petersburg, Russia. Sonya began her musical training at the early age of 5 and since 7-years old she has been constantly performing in the largest halls of Russia. Despite her young age Sonya is the Winner of multiple International Contests as a composer and pianist as well as the Winner of the Russian Ministry of Culture Award, the most prestigious Russian Award granted on the basis of an exceptional compositional maturity and talent.

Sonya comes from the world's top music universities. She holds a dual Bachelor Degree in Composition/Music Theory and Piano Performance from Gnesins Musical College, the renowned music school of Moscow, Russia. While studying she has amassed plenty of awards and honors, including winning the Rodion Shchedrin Piano/Composition Competition performing her Award-winning original composition "Humoresque. Dedication to Maestro" at the famed Hall of Moscow Conservatory. Sonya's passion to film music next brought her to Berklee College of Music. Sonya graduated from Berklee just in 2 years with many awards and honors including winning the Georges Delerue Memorial Award, Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra Composition and Concerto Competitions, Milican Composition Award as well as the Academy Reward 2011 among many other composition and piano honors.

Currently Sonya resides in Los Angeles being very prolific as both a composer and a performer.

“Sonya is one of the most talented young musicians I have met,” – says Jorge Calandrelli, 2 times Oscar nominated, 27 time Grammy nominated, 6 Grammy winning Producer / Composer, with whom Sonya is currently working on releasing a solo piano album.

Sonya is one of today's youngest most accomplished composers and pianists. Originally from St-Petersburg, Russia, Sonya is the Winner of multiple International Contests as both a composer and pianist as well as the Winner of the RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF CULTURE AWARD, the most prestigious Russian Award granted on the basis of an exceptional compositional maturity and talent.

Sonya has gained a sensational public recognition after her bravura arrangements and performances in the Cosplay Piano Series, released on YouTube by the legendary Stan Lee of Marvel Comics. To date there have ben four eposodes released that have totaled one millions views.

As a pianist Sonya can also be heard on various soundtracks and records by such composers as Grammy winning and Oscar nominated Jorge Calandrelli, Primetime Emmy winning Ed Shearmur, Primetime Emmy nominated Sheldon Mirowitz and Award winning Daniel Licht ("Dexter"), among others.

As a composer Sonya’s latest work is the ballet “ORCHIS,” a groundbreaking multimedia collaboration without equal with the world renowned choreographer Viktor Plotnikov, commissioned by the Festival Ballet Providence, Rhode Island’s premiere professional ballet company. “ORCHIS” was premiered in one night with “AGON,” a unique piece of music by Igor Stravinsky with the choreography by George Balanchine, and had a huge success as well as being announced “the highlight of the spring season.” In recognition of Sonya’s many achievements as a composer and pianist in both her native Russia and throughout the international music world, Sonya has received an honorary citation from the Mayor of Providence joined by the citizens of Providence.

Another exciting project Sonya has recently completed is a film "Frigid" which has been premiered at the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival in France.

Currently Sonya resides in Los Angeles enjoying a prolific career as a composer and performer.
