Sumaq Llaqta is a music band from Peru living in Denmark. The name of the band are two words from the Quechua language (Inca language) and it means beautiful land and this name was giving to the band in honor to the three resources Peru has: the coast, the andes (mountains) and the jungle (Amazonas).
The music style Sumaq Llaqta plays has different names like andean music, peruvian music, inca music, etc. but Sumaq Llaqta prefer to call it Music from the Andes. This music style, Music from the Andes uses a lot of instruments but two are the main instruments: the Quenas and the Zampoñas, without these instruments Music from the Andes wouldnt be Music from the Andes.

As the time goes, the music from the andes got richer and richer, bigger and bigger, thanks to all semiprofessional and professional bands around the world. Sumaq Llaqta are two Quechua word and means beautiful country. Quechua is an official language of Peru in the same way as Spanish. Quechua is a language that was spoken in the Incas time. We call ourselves Sumaq Llaqta to reflect Peru's three natural regions : the coast, highlands and jungle.
Music Genre:
We play music from the andes . This type of music brings together mainly greatly inspired by the Incas time and continue on our present days. And even if it is just a music genre , this genre many different rhythms as huayno , sikuri , tinku , tuntuna , tarqueos , more nada , Caporales , Toba , Trote , etc. This music genre draws inspiration from the South American Andes. Nature , history and love are starting points for the development of music from the andes .
Our music instruments
The main musical instruments are quenaen , zampoñaen , charangoen and drummed . There are other instruments that support the genre and without the above instruments will music from andes not be music from the andes .
Our musical work:
We are in constant musical work when time permits . We have recorded our own songs and other traditions all songs. We assure you that we play as well as we can so our listeners are going to get a good music experience ..
When we play:
Since our main instruments are acoustic , we use microphones, this requires a sound process before it is sent to our listeners. If the event requires that we use microphones , we have our own parking facilities are available. We can also play akapella (acoustic , without microphones ) in the case of a small arrangement .
Of course we have the experience of playing music in various scenarios as cafes , schools, universities , festivals and all kinds of music events. You are always welcome to contact us
