There are three artists under the name Virginia:
1) Virginia is a Spanish singer who became famous as contestant and winner of the sixth series of T5's OperaciЈn Triunfo (Spanish 'Fame Academy' / 'Pop Idol' TV show). Born 1982 in Linares, Ja™n, Virginia Maestro Dќaz was vocalist of unsigned bands like Little Vicky & the Shout Band, The Flik Flak Duo or Boogie Flu.
Once at OperaciЈn Triunfo's Academy, Virginia was nicknamed as 'la NiЎa Azul' ('the Blue Girl') after her deep blue eyes and delicate figure. Therefore, her fans are named 'la Marea Azul' ('the Blue Tide') as Virgina got massive response from the audience. A few weeks from the end of the constest, she is one of the finalists.
Virginia's influences span from jazz and blues singers (Billie Holliday, Nina Simone, Bonnie Raitt) to indie bands (Radiohead, The Cardigans).
