Peter Allen Greenbaum was born on October 29, 1946 to a working class family in London's West End. Peter first showed interest in music at the age of 10, when one of his brothers brought home a cheap Spanish guitar. The kid is serious about mastering this instrument, and his tastes were influenced by Hank Marvin from "Shadows", Muddy Waters and B.B. King. Also, it was not without listening to old Jewish songs. At the age of 15, Peter shortened his last name to "Greene" and in his new incarnation began playing bass in various amateur bands. In 1966, he received an offer to take the lead guitar position in Peter Bardens' "Peter B's Looners" project. It was in "B's" that the 19-year-old musician met drummer Mick Fleetwood. Green worked for Bardens for three months, after which he moved to the John Mayall's bluesbreakers team. A big fan of Clapton, Peter begged Mayall to give him the opportunity to replace his idol when he decided to take a vacation. Upon the return of Eric, Green was fired, but when Clapton finally left the Bluesbreakers, John again invited Peter to his team. Clapton's fans were suspicious of the new guitarist, but then they saw that the guy had outstanding abilities and calmed down. While still a "bluesbreaker", Green became close friends with John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, so it is not surprising that when in 1967 he decided to organize his own band, he invited these musicians to join him. With "Fleetwood Mac" Peter's talent is revealed
