Regular readers will know we just love the rock duo SLEEP MACHINE
from Los Angeles, consisting of vocalist Alisha Zalkin and
powerhouse Dan Kalisher - whose alchemy includes a formidable
headrush of fiery guitar-sound with rhythms that constantly build
themselves, caging the beast inside.
Their fresh EP was released September 20th with a video for the
single "Animal High" taken from the release.
We had a listen:
There is something that is uniquely naked and vulnerable in the
voice of Alisha.
Although, she wants to do "bad things ..." I'm sure she realy does
- there is emotional conflict here, and that's what gives this
single the edge.
The fuzzy structure of this is a beast of dark vibrations, yet the
voice rises like a whirlwind of scarring acid.
Be prepared for over-heated passion when she reaches for the
"eighth" deadly sin!

That single from Siren? It's on this record. Did you look the
mermaid chick up? Somehow both hot and creepy at the same time,
am I right?
The band released a small handful of digital only singles after this
EP, and seem to have faded away.
