The name Narcolaptic is derived from the English word "narcoleptic ,"
with the band name spelled with two "A"s instead of one "E."
Narcolepsy is the medical term for "sleeping sickness," but the band
name only indirectly refers to the actual illness. Rather, it is
meant to describe a state similar to a kind of delirium .
According to the band, they play music with influences from punk ,
grunge , ska , alternative rock , hardcore , and metal. Narcolaptic
jokingly called their first demo Hardcorepop . The group's first
concert took place in May 2005 at the Rote Flora cultural center in
Hamburg. More gigs soon followed. Since their formation, Narcolaptic
has played over 400 concerts throughout Germany and beyond, with
bands such as Talco , Schmutzki , Götz Widmann , Muff Potter , TV
Smith , and many others.
After the first demo productions, the first self-produced album came
out in 2009. Influenced by bands like NOFX , The Flatliners , Nirvana,
Sublime , and Rise Against , the predominantly English songs deal
with real-life themes, as well as fun, irony, politics, and everyday
constraints.
In October 2010 and March 2014, Narcolaptic toured Indonesia with
local punk bands such as Bunga Hitam . During their first visit, they
played 13 shows on the island of Java .
The second album, Hypocretin , was released at the end of February
2016. The title of the album is the name of a hormone that influences
the sleep-wake cycle.
In March 2016, the band toured Thailand , Malaysia , Singapore and
Indonesia with the album , setting a second record for the group in
Southeast Asia.
On December 28, 2016, the documentary film Komunitas (Community)
premiered to the public at a sold-out screening at the 3001 cinema in
Hamburg. The film is about the band Narcolaptic's third and, to date,
longest journey across Southeast Asia. The film was subsequently
revised in some areas and shown in various German cinemas between
mid-2017 and early 2018. In March 2019, Komunitas was released in
Germany and Austria via Prime Video .

First, I downloaded this: Narcolaptic-Never_Fall_In_Line-CD-FLAC-2018
-FiXIE, and really enjoyed it. I wanted to hear more. So I streamed
the band's second album, Hypocretin, and really enjoyed that as well.
I couldn't find their debut, More Than Noise to stream or download
elsewhere (now, it seems I didn't try very hard), so I bought the CD.
