The tray notes add. . .
For anyone with a taste in 80's style heavy metal, Dokken pretty
much personifies the best musically oriented side of the glam
scene, mostly because their image was the only thing glam about
them. Along with other acts such as Twisted Sister and Motley
Crue, the put the emphasis where it belongs, on the riffs and
attitude. Much like Tesla, Dokken bridged the gap between hair
band roll and hard American rock kicked out by the likes of Van
Halen, and with an attitude that resonated with the MC5. A year
before they released their debut album, Breaking The Chains in
the U.S., the band took to the stage for the long running German
TV show Beat Club to perform selected tracks from the record with
future Ratt player Juan Croucier on bass. Their appearance at
Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee Wi two years later sees new bass
player Jeff Pilson in position for the King Biscuit Flower Hour
that provides more live exclusives and a supercharged line-up
taking shape.
Ripper's Notes:
Remember when I said Dokken were arguably the best major label metal
band of the mid to late 80's? Here? Not yet. For collectors only,
for the otherwise unavailable My Little Red Book and a complete
version of Going Under.
If you chose to share this, or any other release, elsewhere, please
give the original ripper/uploader the respect they deserve by
leaving it intact and giving credit where credit is due.
