Agnes adds (from the Japanese booklet). . .
Hello!
This is Agnes, for all my fans in Japan
My second album is coming out soon, and it's a lot heavier than
the first one.
We had a great time recording the album with Mikko P Mustonen. We
chose all the songs very carefully in order to make the best record
possible, the studio sessions went really well, even if there was
also a great deal of stress. The album is now ready, and it's
absolutely amazing. Mikko did a really great job, he played most
of the guitars and keyboards on the album, and the new members of
my band took care of all the rest. We're now waiting for the album
to come out.
I hope you will enjoy the album as much as we do.
Greetings from Finland!
Sayonara!
Ripper's Notes:
Ummm, WHAT? Agnes herself says this album is "a lot heavier than
the first one". . . what the heck happened in mixing/production
that the result was this? The first thing that hits you is it's
not as heavy as the debut.
Heaviness not withstanding, this is a solid album. The only thing
it needs redemption from is the fact it's not the debut. When you
hit a grand slam on your debut, even when your second album is a
solid triple, it still feels like a disappointment.
The unlisted bonus track, "Words" is really the only one that would
fit in on the debut, and ending on that track really, really,
REALLY makes me want to hear the "a lot heavier" recordings that
Agnes was referring to.
