Lethal are an American power metal act with progressive metal elements
formed in 1982 in Hebron, Kentucky. The band was formed by the Cook
brothers Eric (on guitars) and Glen (on bass). The band's original
drummer was Adrian Powers while Tom Mallicoat took care of the vocals
in the band. The lineup was completed by Dell Hull on guitars. The
first release by Lethal was the 1987 Arrival demo. The band then scored
a record deal with Metal Blade Records and released their debut full-
length studio album Programmed in 1990 (with new drummer Jerry
Hartman). Guitarist Dell Hull left Lethal shortly after the release of
Programmed and started working for a company in California who made
album cover designs. Dell Hull had designed the cover artwork for
Programmed.
Lethal recruited new guitarist David McElfresh to replace Dell Hull. It
would be five years before another official release by the band would
see the light of day. The Your Favourite God EP was released by
Massacre Records in 1995. The band released their second and for now
last full-length studio album Poison Seed in 1996. The album was
released by Massacre Records. Shortly after the release of that album
Lethal split up. They reunited in June 2006 and are hoping to release
more music sometime in the future.
Fans of classic US power metal/ progressive metal acts like Fates
Warning, Queensryche, Crimson Glory and Heir Apparent should find a lot
to enjoy here.
Ripper's Notes:
Original 4 track demo, with 4 additional tracks pulled from other
releases.
This is metal like grandma used to make, before every metal band only
wanted to be heavier than the bands before it. High pitched vocals
over power metal riffs, all played at the speed of light. Rock on!
If you chose to share this, or any other release, elsewhere,
please give the original ripper/uploader the respect they deserve
by leaving it intact and giving credit where credit is due.
