MelodicRock Classics continues its mission of reviving great albums
from the past and giving them a fresh lease on life. On this
occasion it is the great GARY MOON getting the remaster/reissue
treatment. His acclaimed 1995 album 'Still Moon' (self-re-issued in
2002) was filled with quality melodic rock from the voice that
previously worked with Jeff Paris, Night Ranger and Three Dog
Night, plus also appearing on solo albums from Night Ranger's Brad
Gillis and Kelly Keagy.
Many of the songs were written for a project called The Pack which
never came to fruition, but the demos here include those
performances.
This is a limited edition 500 unit reissue, recently remastered by
JK Northrup.

bootleg" live tracks from Gary's appearance at MelodicRock Fest 4
in Chicago USA.
Zoloft: An Autobiography (excerpt) . . .
Not long ago, I equated my music collecting to mental illness. That
was not hyperbole. I can be quite OCD (the name Zoloft wasn't
pulled out of my ass), but I've found a healthy, if often
expensive, way to channel that OCD, and that's collecting music.
If I really like a band, I try to collect everything from that
band, and that often includes the member's of that band's side
projects.
If you've followed my uploads at all, you know I have quite the
love for Night Ranger, in my opinion, the greatest of all AOR
bands.
In the mid 90s, Jack Blades left Night Ranger to pursue a solo
career (two mediocre solo albums were the result). During that time
Kelly and Brad chose to continue the band as a three piece,
recruiting Brad's old friend Gary Moon to play bass and share
vocals with Kelly. They put out a single album "Feeding Off The
Mojo" (colloquially known as "Moon Ranger") and toured heavily.
The album, and tour, were not much of a success, and soon after the
original five members reunited for the outstanding "Neverland" (to
date, my favorite Night Ranger album).
All that being said, I did not care for the Moon Ranger album,
mostly because I don't care for Gary's voice. But, we all know,
the ODC is gonna kick in, so I had to dig up Gary's solo album,
"Still Moon."
I didn't like "Still Moon" then, and I don't like "Still Moon" now.
But, when I was trying to find a review of the Night Ranger
"Extended Versions" release to make it's nfo, I found that "Still
Moon" had just been reissued with some bonus tracks. I could have
skipped it if the only bonus was "Now & Forever" which I had, way
back in the day, purchased the Melodic Rock comp for, but, it has
the addition of the live tracks, so the ole OCD made not buying it
impossible.
Hopefully you enjoy this one more than I do.
But, for the record, "Feeding Off The Mojo" is not my least
favorite Night Ranger record, that dishonor falls to "Hole In The
Sun," the last Night Ranger album with all five original members.
